A visit to the famous Abbey Falls and the Iruppu Falls will give you plenty of backdrops for clicking romantic pictures. These waterfalls are best visited after the monsoons. The Abbey Falls is situated amidst the private coffee plantations covered with thick coffee bushes. The Iruppu Falls is located close to the Nagarhole National Park and during the peak season, you can enjoy the view of butterflies all around you.

As Coorg is world famous for the high quality coffee it produces, a visit to one of the coffee plantations is a must. You can even plan for a homestay experience at a plantation to enjoy the beauty of the place. A guided tour will let you discover the history of the place, and will also give you an opportunity to taste different types of coffee produced in Coorg.

#4. Dubare elephant camp

This is a Government-operated training camp for the elephants. If you reach early in the morning, you can even catch the glimpse of elephants getting bathed. You can even get down in the water and scrub them. There is much you can learn about elephants here and also enjoy a ride or two.

#5. Tibetan monastery

Counted among the top ten Indian monasteries, the Namdroling Nyingmapa Tibetan Monastery, is located near Kushalnagar. The major attractions of this place are the three 40-feet tall golden statues of Buddha.
You will get to know a lot about Tibetan Buddhist mythology through the walls of the temple, as they are adorned with beautiful paintings of Buddhist gods and demons. The peaceful and calm surroundings of the temple will surely make you and your partner feel reinvigorated.

#6. Raja’s seat

Located in the region of Madikeri town, the Raja’s Seat is a popular tourist spot. It was one of the favourite gardens of the kings of Kodagu, who used to spend time here with their queens. If you manage to reach here early, you can catch the picturesque view of the sunrise. You can also get a panoramic view of the valley right up till Kerala.

#7. Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary

#8. Padi Igguthappa Temple

Very much revered by the locals, the temple is located in Virajpet. If you plan to visit the region in March, you can also join the annual festival, where people from Coorg and other nearby places gather to offer special prayers. The devotees offer grains, sugar, coconut, etc., to the temple against their own weight. This special offering is called Tulabhara.
